Concept: I made a deal to shoot images for Gypse Couture for free in exchange for the rights to use the shoot in my project. So I had to shoot these images for a specific purpose, meaning I had to show the clothes, details and feel of the clothes.

Lighting: I used two lights to light this scene one raw head on the background and one with a 86 inch umbrella on the model, the ambient light acted as fill.

Camera Settings / Meta Data: Exposure: F2.8 @ 1/100, focal length 140, ISO 100, exposure mode manual, Canon EOS 5D Mark II, lens EF 70-200 mm f/2.8. The data here is from a typical image from the shoot.

Basic Lighting / Metering: The ambient light was the fill it metered F1@1/100, The light from the umbrella and the ambient combined to give me a ready of F2.8@1/100 on her. I added a light to the background area to keep it from going dark, that light metered F4@1/100.

Time of Day: 5 PM Conditions: outdoors Location: Los Angeles, Ca

Model: Daniella Misc Data: Hair, makeup, by Wendy Doyle. Gypse Couture provide the clothes.

Total Cost: $14.00, This was a trade shoot, the location was free, wardrobe was provided by the client. I purchased a bottle of wine for the crew and I.

The Story / The Concept: I wanted to attempt a fantasy image that would be intense and cool but do it or very little money. It took me a couple of tries to make the headpiece but in the end I got the look I was going for and only spent $4.00 to do it.

Lighting: Sarah was lit with a 10 degree grid on a single strobe allowing me to completely control the light and how much shadow was created on her face. I used a second light on the background with a blue gel to create the look and fee of the background.

Camera Settings / Meta Data: exposure: F2.8 @ 1/125, focal length 170mm, ISO 400, exposure mode manual, Canon EOS 5D Mark II, lens EF 70-200 mm f/2.8. The data here is from a typical image from the shoot.

Basic Lighting / Metering: The light from the grid and the ambient light was adjusted to meter at F4.5@1/125. The background light was adjusted to meter F2@1/125. The camera was set at F2.8@1/125 causing her skin to be about a stop over exposed.

Time of Day: 2 PM Conditions: indoor Location: Austin, Tx

Model: Sarah Creel Misc Data: Makeup by Jessica Wright, Hair by Caroline Keifer, wardrobe I made and already owned.

Total Cost: aprox $35, This was a trade shoot, the location was free, wardrobe was created by me, the copper was about $4.00 and I purchased drinks and snacks for the crew.
